“min(d)ing” is the first “episode” of an immersive art installation inside a silent booth (human size glass cabin, soundproof) that allows access to one person at a time. You will be translated into an alternative reality through a 15 minutes sensorial theatrical experience with auditory sensory substitution, visual or tactile sensors that helps you detect and store information about the external environment. This information is then transformed by interfaces into sound and stories.
It is a participatory experience. You have the freedom to play with 4 different audiochannels while pressing and switch-ing from one button to another. Each one have a different character/voice/soundscape (on the other side of a pair of headphones) that will play with your mind, teaching you (as a couch or a mentor) the opportunities that the power of the mind can bring you, also helping you immerse into the story while whispering instructions, clues or questions. There are also 7 different light channels (buttons) that will guide you through this participatory experience.
We challenge you to use your imagination and senses to accomplish the tasks necessary for the gradual discovery of the story. Let yourself be immersed by making your own decisions, interacting with people outside the cabin, while being still separated – of course – by the glass wall. The cabin is soundproofed to enhance the effect of parallel reality, but also to enhance the idea of intimacy leaving room for introspection.
