THEATER IN SCHOOLS – Education through theater plays an extremely important role in the development of young minds. Students not only discover the art of acting but also develop essential skills such as self-confidence, empathy, patience, memory, spontaneity, and the ability to work in teams. Theater workshops provide students with a safe space for expression and creativity, where they can explore their feelings and develop their imagination. Beyond the games and exercises in the theater realm, we watch recorded theater performances or go on trips together to local theaters. Since 2022, I have been conducting theater workshops in schools and working with hundreds of students from Maramureș. At the end of each module, we build theater productions to test and overcome their emotions in front of an audience and encourage them to tell their own story as a result of dramatic writing exercises. We create impactful productions for the local community through the topics addressed, with most productions falling within the realm of social/documentary theater.
